British Isles as far north as Wester Ross.

Recorded from scattered sites from across the county.

Confusion species
Many species of Phyllonorycter are extremely similar, great care should
be given when separating these species. It is often impossible to
separate the adults of some species.

Wherever the foodplant is found.
Foodplant
Hawthorn, pear and quince.
Lifestage data
Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva forms a gallery which
causes the leaf edge to fold over. Pupates in a flimsy to almost absent
brown cocoon within the mine. |
